Finding work for the long-term unemployed

Upcoming Event

Available sessions will be listed here when scheduled.

Run of the mill job placement strategies are often unsuccessful with the long-term unemployed. This 2 hour online workshop will explore why this is the case and provide you with practical steps to take to turn things around.

Description:

During this two-hour workshop, Lauren Peacock from the Institute of Capacity Building, will provide you with a range of interactive tools and approaches aimed at engaging this difficult to place cohort.

Finding employment for clients who have experienced long-term unemployment is incredibly rewarding- and increasingly essential. With historically low unemployment rates continuing, consultants must have the necessary skills to engage and place their whole case load, not just those who are most job ready.

At the end of the workshop, learners will have an actionable plan which results in better quality, longer lasting outcomes.

Suitable for:

Frontline staff and frontline management looking to improve their ability to engage clients with a complex or limited work history.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Recognise the unique barriers and challenges of working with the long-term unemployed
  • Confidence in implementing job coaching strategies that work with this cohort
  • A clear placement plan which leads to successful outcomes for long term unemployed on your caseload from this month forward

Format:

Interactive 2 hour online workshop
